AKRON, Ohio - Kimberlee Nettles was the top Nighthawk shooter as the No. 20 University of North Georgia rifle team lost to No. 5 Akron Saturday at the Robert A. Pinn Shooting Range.
Nettles was near perfect in the prone position, shooting back-to-back strings of 99 en route to a team-high 576 smallbore score. She followed that up with a 577 air rifle score where her first five strings scored 96 before finishing with a 97.
Tobin Sanctuary was the next UNG shooter in aggregate scoring, tying Nettles in the air rifle discipline with a perfect 100 string.
Jayne Fraley also had a perfect 100 in one of her air rifle strings.
The Nighthawks will break for the remainder of the semester and be back in action on January 19 against Georgia Southern.
