#ONEUNG: Athletics Nutrition Fueling Station

DAHLONEGA - As part of the #ONEUNG crowdfunding initiative at the University of North Georgia, the Nighthawk Athletics department is seeking funding assistance to provide our student-athletes at UNG with a Nutrition Fueling Station that will aid our student-athletes in overall nutrition, workout recovery and performance.

#ONEUNG is a crowdfunding initiative that provides an opportunity for alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff to raise funds for specific projects, campus needs, and enrichment activities beyond what the university and state government can provide.

Through the power of social networking and the generosity of the UNG community, #ONEUNG empowers the university in its mission to develop tomorrow's leaders.

Sports nutrition is a cornerstone element to enable student-athletes resilience the academic and sporting demands. Many students are required to attend class immediately before or after each training session and are unable to find quality food during the short time between classes and sessions. The addition of UNG's Nutrition Fueling Station will supply student-athletes with essential and timely nutrients to keep them healthy and performing at their best both physically and mentally.

"Frequently our student-athletes run from classes to practice with little to no time to eat a nutritious meal," stated Director of Athletics Lindsay Reeves. "This much needed fueling station will help to ensure that our student-athletes are getting the proper nutrients to perform at their best both in the classroom and on the field of play."

UNG is committed to the well-being of its student-athletes and maximizing their potential by making nutrition a priority. With your gift, the UNG Athletics Department will open its first Nutrition Fueling Station in the Strength and Conditioning facility. The Fueling Station will be accessible to each student-athlete five days out of the week.
