SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Jayne Fraley and
Kimberlee Nettles shared top shooter honors as the No. 19 University of North Georgia rifle team defeated Wofford in the Southern Conference opener, winning by 51 points.
Fraley shot an event-high 589 in the air rifle discipline with a perfect 100 string in her fifth. She scored no less than 97 in the remaining five strings.
Nettles had the best smallbore score of the event, firing a 579 that included four strings of 98 or more. She paired that with a 578 in air rifle to tie Fraley with a 1,158 aggregate score.
Tobin Sanctuary had the second-best aggregate score after finishing second in both disciplines. He was perfect in the prone position in smallbore before finishing with a 580 score in air rifle.
North Georgia will next be in action against VMI on Saturday in Lexington, Virginia.
