MURRAY, Ky. - Ricky Medina shot an aggregate score of 1,170, tying the school record, but the No. 19 University of North Georgia rifle team fell by just four points to Alabama Birmingham this weekend. The Nighthawks shot a 4,599 total score in the Withrow Invitational hosted by Murray State.

UAB's score fo 4,603 edged the Nighthawks by just four points.

Medina used a perfect 100 string in smallbore kneeling position to get a jump toward the program's record before starting air rifle with a perfect 100 string as well. The sophomore followed that string with five more strings with scores no less than 98 to shoot a personal-best 592 in the discipline.

Arica Hayes also shot a personal best score in the air rifle discipline, firing a 581 that included a perfect 100 string. Tobin Sanctuary was perfect from the prone position in smallbore, nailing two 100s along the way.

The Nighthawks will jump back into conference action as they travel to Wofford next Saturday.
