Men's and Women's Tennis Prepare for Peach Belt Tournament

DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia tennis teams have qualified for the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Tournament and will travel to Florence, South Carolina, to battle for a tournament title this weekend.

The tournament, hosted by Francis Marion, is single elimination and begins on Friday, April 20, with all quarterfinal matches playing simultaneously. The women's matches will start at 9 a.m. with men's action to follow at 1 p.m.

The UNG women's tennis team finished the season in a tie for second with Georgia College but will be the No. 3 seed in the tournament because of GC's win over the Nighthawks back on April 4. North Georgia will battle sixth-seeded USC Aiken Friday morning, a team that the Nighthawks defeated, 6-3, earlier this season.

The men's side claimed the No. 8 seed and will face top-seeded and No. 3 ranked Columbus State in the opening round of the tournament. CSU went undefeated in league play and have only lost one point in the last seven matches, losing a match to UNG on April 8.
