Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - In a matchup of top-20 teams, the No. 17 University of North Georgia men's tennis team fell to third-ranked Lynn, 7-2, Friday afternoon at Georgia Gwinnett.
Ryan Gaskin and
Niklas Zielen got things started quickly at No. 1 doubles with an 8-0 win over Lynn's top doubles team, but the Knights claimed the other two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into singles.
Lynn claimed the first five singles matches, each in straight sets, and looked to be on their way to a clean sweep of singles after Gabriel Hocevar beat
Zack Waldow at No. 4 singles, 6-0, in the first set. Waldow battled back to win a second-set tiebreak before winning the third set, 10-6, giving UNG their lone singles point.
The Nighthawks will be back in action at Florida Southern on Tuesday, March 13, at 3 p.m.
