Women's Basketball Back on Winning Track With 84-64 Win Over USC Aiken

DAHLONEGA – Three-point shooting was the key as the No. 21 University of North Georgia women's basketball got back on the winning track with an 84-64 win over USC Aiken Saturday afternoon on Alumni Day in Memorial Hall.

USC Aiken won the tip and connected on a three-pointer to start the game off, but freshman Abbie Franklin answered back with her own three-pointer for UNG, setting the tone for the remainder of the contest.

After the Nighthawks led by as many as eight in the first half, USC Aiken came back to narrow the gap to just one point, 39-38, near the end of the second quarter before Vanessa Agrusa hit a three-pointer at the buzzer, pulling the Nighthawks ahead 42-38.

UNG had another buzzer-beating three pointer by Alli Jones to end the third quarter before the Nighthawks pulled away in the fourth to earn their 18th victory of the season, 84-64.
