DAHLONEGA - Ricky Medina and
Tobin Sanctuary finished as the top two shooters as the No. 18 University of North Georgia rifle team edged The Citadel Saturday at the COL Raymond C. Hamilton Rifle Range.
North Georgia defeated the Bulldogs by 33 points in the aggregate total. UNG finished just under their season averages in the win.
Medina was the top shooter overall, firing a 589 in the air rifle discipline that included a perfect 100 string and no string less than 97 points. Sanctuary was the best smallbore shooter, putting a perfect 100 string in the prone position en route to a 576 score in the discipline.
Kimberlee Nettles also finished in the top five overall, placing fourth with an 1138 aggregate total.
North Georgia will compete again tomorrow against No. 3 Kentucky and No. 14 Army in Lexington, Kentucky.
