STATESBORO, Ga. - The No. 18 University of North Georgia (UNG) rifle team sits in second place following day one of the SoCon Championship, trailing host No. 6 Georgia Southern.
Friday's competition featured the smallbore discipline, with the Nighthawks posting a team score of 2,304. Corbin Jockers paced North Georgia with a 581 (31 inner 10s), while Brianna Walter followed closely with a 579 (31).
Abby Swain and Courtney Allison each recorded scores of 572 to round out the team total, while Ian Lyons added a 570.
UNG enters Saturday's air rifle competition 41 points behind Georgia Southern, with the discipline set to determine the final aggregate standings.
