Ozer Nets Two in Men's Soccer Loss to Lincoln Memorial

HARROGATE, Tenn. - Eren Ozer scored in a third consecutive game, putting two goals in the net, but the University of North Georgia men's soccer team fell on the road at Lincoln Memorial, 4-2, Wednesday afternoon.

LMU struck twice in the first half as Victor Peres scored both times. After a goal just minutes into the second half by the Railsplitters' Matteo Bufalo, Ozer scored his first goal of the day on a through ball by Matheus Abreu, cutting the LMU lead to 3-1.

Peres answered three minutes later to earn a hat trick, pushing the match back to a three-goal cushion for Lincoln Memorial. Ozer headed the final goal of the match into the net in the 73rd minute on a bad defensive clearance.

North Georgia controlled the possession the rest of the match, earning seven corner kicks in the final 12 minutes of play, but the Railsplitter defense stood strong to preserve the win.

NOTES
- This is the second consecutive game that Ozer has scored two goals. The senior's three-game scoring streak is the longest since Daniel Bowlt's five-game goal scoring run back in 2013.

- The Nighthawks have now lost four straight to LMU in the series.

- UNG finished non-conference play at 3-3-1 this season.
