Men's Soccer Falls at Anderson, 2-1

ANDERSON, S.C. - Carl Ludwig Eriksson scored in the 71st minute of play to tie the match up at 1-1, but Anderson scored in the 83rd minute and held on to defeat the University of North Georgia men's soccer team, 2-1, Friday night at Trojan Stadium.

The Trojans struck first in the match when Thomas Joergsholm took a pass from Cameron Emerson in front of the goal and found the net for a 1-0 lead.

Eriksson was able to score the Nighthawks' goal when he found a loose ball in the box three yards from the net and fired it in to tie the match, 1-1. The match was won, however, when Landon Goodman took a pass and sent a shot off the inside of the post and in the back of the net to clinch the win for Anderson.

North Georgia attempted three shots at goal in the final two minutes of the game, but the Anderson back line stood strong to take the win.

NOTES
- Alex Grant and Francisco Alisiardi led the Nighthawks in shots taken with three each. Grant had two shots on goal, while Alisiardi put one on frame.

- Anderson evens the all-time series with North Georgia with the win, bringing the nine-game series to a 4-4-1 tie. This was UNG's first loss in Anderson in the series.

NEXT UP
The Nighthawks will continue their five-game road swing with a September 13 fixture at Montevallo. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
