CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - After 110 minutes of play, the No. 13 University of North Georgia women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with Mississippi College Sunday morning at the Boyd-Buchanan School.
North Georgia put some early pressure on the Choctaws in the 17th minute, firing two shots within 40 seconds, but Andrea McDonald made a save and saw the other shot go wide.
The Nighthawks had another great chance in the 54th minute.
Michelle Allen sent a shot off the crossbar and
Olivia Dumphy got the rebound, but, again, McDonald made the crucial save to keep the score level.
UNG goalkeeper
Hannah Goudy made big saves as well, including two in the final 15 minutes of regulation. The Nighthawks took the only two shots in the overtime periods, but the Choctaw defense stood strong to force the draw.
NOTES
- Sunday's 0-0 result was the first time since October 3, 2015, against Armstrong State that the Nighthawks have ended a match in a scoreless draw. It is also just the sixth scoreless draw in the NCAA era for UNG.
- This was the first meeting between the two teams in program history.
- Goudy finished with five saves in the contest.
