DAHLONEGA - The No. 36 University of North Georgia extended its program record winning streak to eight matches with a 7-2 Peach Belt Conference victory over Montevallo on Sunday afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
North Georgia improves to 17-3 overall and 8-2 in league matches while Montevallo falls to 15-5 and 3-5.
The Nighthawks claimed all three doubles matches punctuated with a hard-fought 9-8 (1) win by
Karina Gurgenyan and
Lexa Loden in the third flight.
Three straight set singles wins in the top of the lineup by
Kathrin Waidner,
Felicia Baratta and
Karina Gurgenyan clinched North Georgia's eighth straight win of the season.

The Nighthawks will return to the courts on Friday, Apr. 7 when they kick off a three-match road swing with a PBC contest at fourth-ranked Armstrong State in Savannah.
