SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 14 University of North Georgia men's tennis team fell 7-2 in its regular season finale to fourth-ranked Armstrong State on Saturday afternoon at the Armstrong Tennis Complex.
With the win, the Pirates (16-6, 9-1 PBC) earn a share the regular season title with Columbus State. North Georgia falls to 18-3 overall and 7-3 in the PBC with the loss.
Armstrong State swept all three doubles matches from the Nighthawks for a commanding 3-0 lead heading into singles play where the Pirates picked up two quick straight-set singles wins to clinch the victory.

Niklas Zielen upset No. 8 Luca Cerin, 6-2, 7-5, at No. 1 singles for a Nighthawk point.
The other three singles matches went to third set tiebreakers where North Georgia's
Lukas Moritzen defeated Cruz Chomorro, 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5) at No. 5 singles for UNG's second point.
North Georgia will be the No. 4 seed in the upcoming 2017 Peach Belt Conference Championships, which take place from April 21-23 at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Tennis Center in Florence, S.C. Full seedings and the tournament schedule will be released by the Peach Belt office later this weekend.
