ORLANDO – The No. 18 University of North Georgia men's tennis team downed a ranked opponent for the fourth time this season as the Nighthawks defeated No. 41 Bluefield State, 7-2, on Thursday morning at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona near Orlando.
The Nighthawks swept all three doubles matches before securing four straight set singles wins at No. 1, 3, 4 and 5 singles with all four matches coming over regionally-ranked players.
UNG has now won 30 of 36 doubles matches through the first 12 contests of the season.
North Georgia improves to 11-1 overall while Bluefield State, ranked first in the Atlantic region, falls to 8-2 on the season.
The Nighthawks will conclude their Spring Break trip with a match against Millersville at 11:30 tomorrow (Mar. 17).
