Women's Tennis Team Cracks National Rankings for First Time in Program History

DAHLONEGA | For the first time in program history, the University of North Georgia women's tennis team has broken into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NCAA Division II national rankings at No. 30. The Nighthawks are also ranked sixth in the Southeast region.

The top-50 national ranking is the first in the women's tennis team's NCAA history.

North Georgia finished the season with a 15-11 overall record and earned its second consecutive appearance in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.  The 15 wins also set a new program benchmark for single season victories.

The UNG men's tennis team (17-7) stayed put in the most recent ITA rankings at No. 22 nationally and fifth regionally.

Both teams will await their NCAA postseason fate as the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Selection Shows will air Tuesday, May 3 on NCAA.com.
