GREENWOOD, S.C. | The University of North Georgia tennis teams earned a Peach Belt Conference split at Lander at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center with the Nighthawk women winning 6-3 and the 22nd-ranked men falling 9-0 to the 5th-ranked Bearcats.
 
The Nighthawk women took two of three doubles matches winning in the bottom two lines.  In singles, North Georgia won four of six highlighted by a three-set victory in the top line by Kathrin Waidner as she rallied from dropping the first set to down Ivanka Mocic 5-7, 6-0, 6-3.
 
North Georgia improves to 11-6 overall and 3-4 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 5-8, 1-8.
 
In the men's match, North Georgia forced a third set in all but one singles match.  Lander improves to 13-2 overall and 8-1 in the PBC, while North Georgia drops to 10-6, 2-5.
 
Both teams travel to face Lincoln Memorial on Monday (Apr. 4) at 2:30 p.m.
