DAHLONEGA | The University of North Georgia tennis teams got back on the winning track with a pair of Peach Belt Conference victories over Georgia Southwestern on Sunday afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex. The No. 20 Nighthawk men snapped a two-match winning streak with an 8-1 victory while the UNG women blanked the Hurricanes, 9-0.

In the men's match, the doubles top doubles duo of Philipp Mueller and Niklas Zielen, ranked sixth in the region, battled to an 8-6 win to give the Nighthawks a clean sweep of doubles.

In singles, the Nighthawks took five of six lines in straight sets, with GSW's lone point coming courtesy of a three-set win at No. 4 singles.

In the women's match, the Nighthawks won all three doubles matches before breezing past the Hurricanes in singles with six straight set wins. Brittany Stewart picked up a pair of victories in her first action of the season.

With the victories, both teams improve to 7-2 overall and 2-2 in the Peach Belt Conference.

North Georgia returns to action on Wednesday (Mar. 9) when both teams travel to Milledgeville to take on Georgia College with first serves scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
