DAHLONEGA | Columbus State swept a pair of Peach Belt Conference tennis matches from the University of North Georgia tennis teams on Saturday afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park with the Nighthawk men falling 7-2 and the UNG women suffering a 9-0 setback.

The loss is the second straight for the 20^th-ranked UNG men as they fall to 6-2 overall and 1-2 in PBC play. No. 11 CSU improves to 6-3, 3-1 PBC.

Lukas Moritzen and Andre Canino were able to pick up a 9-7 win at third doubles.  Canino accounted for the Nighthawks' other point with a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles.

The other five singles matches went three sets with CSU rallying to win after dropping the first set in four of those matches. 

The No. 8 Columbus State women jumped out to a quick start with 8-4 victories in all three doubles matches.

North Georgia's Sandra Ungricht took Kirsa Utech, ranked 50^th-nationally, to three sets while Simone Krog lost a hard-fought three set battle at No. 6 singles eventually dropping a 14-12 decision in the third set.

UNG falls to 6-2, 1-2 PBC while CSU ups their record to 8-3 overall and a perfect 5-0 in league matches.

The teams return to action tomorrow (Mar. 7) when they host Georgia Southwestern at 12:00 noon.
