MACON, Ga. | Armstrong State posted a pair of Peach Belt Conference victories over the University of North Georgia tennis teams on Tuesday afternoon at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon. The top-ranked Pirate women downed UNG 8-1 while the 3rd-ranked Armstrong men pulled out a 7-2 victory over the 20th-ranked Nighthawks.
 
In the women's match, North Georgia's Lexa Rae Loden beat Alice Patch, 2-6, 6-3, (10-5), in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 6 singles.
 
The top-ranked and defending NCAA Division II national champion Pirates upped their record to 13-1 overall and 4-0 in the Peach Belt, while North Georgia falls to 10-5 overall and 2-4 in the league.

In the men's match, the Nighthawks' Andre Canino and Lukas Moritzen downed Luca Cerin and Otakar Lucak, 8-5, at No. 3 doubles for North Georgia's doubles point.
 
North Georgia's singles point came at No. 3 singles as Alexander Reinauer defeated Cerin, 6-3, 7-5.
 
The win keeps the Pirates (11-1, 4-0 PBC) unbeaten in the league while North Georgia falls to 10-5 overall and 2-4 in the Peach Belt.
 
North Georgia's next action is Friday, Mar. 25 when the women host Brenau at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park with first serves scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Both teams host USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon in PBC action.
