Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Ramey Scores Twice in No. 11 Women’s Soccer’s 3-0 Win Over Queens

DAHLONEGA | Junior forward Jacy Ramey scored two goals to help lift the No. 11 University of North Georgia women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Queens (N.C.) Sunday afternoon at the UNG Soccer Complex. The Nighthawks improve to 4-0-0 on the year with the victory.

Ramey scored the only goal of the first half in the 17th minute heading in a beautiful corner kick from Mollie Arrendale to give UNG what would end up being the game-winning goal.

Arrendale scored a goal of her own in the opening minutes of the second half with a strike over the goalkeeper's head from 20 yards out. Ramey found the back of the net once again just moments later, finishing a deflected save off a shot by Sophia Matonak.

NOTES
- Jacy Ramey had six shots on goal in today's game, a career high for the junior out of Buford. The last time a UNG player had six or more shots on goal was last season against Georgia Southwestern when Sophia Matonak put seven shots on frame.

- The home opening win is the fifth straight for Chris Adams' club. The last time the Nighthawks lost a home opener was in 2010 when Belmont Abbey edged North Georgia, 1-0. UNG is 7-3-1 in home openers in the NCAA-era (2005-present).

- UNG is now 2-0 all-time against Queens (N.C.) winning the only other between the two schools, 2-1, last season in Charlotte.

- Today's game was a season high for North Georgia in shots (29) and shots on goal (13).

- The shutout is the 20th in Mallory Sayre's career, extending her school record.
