Softball UNG lands two First Team All-Americans for the first time

McMillan and Poole Named NFCA First Team All-Americans

OKLAHOMA CITY | University of North Georgia softball players Kim McMillan and Courtney Poole have both been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association 2015 NCAA Division II All-America Team.

Poole is 42-3 with a 0.95 ERA and 335 strikeouts over 300.2 innings this season. McMillan, a first baseman, hit .446 this season adding 17 home runs and 51 RBI.

This marks the first year in North Georgia history that the Nighthawk softball program has landed two or more First Team All-Americans in one year. Current assistant coach Sarah Phillips is the only North Georgia softball player to earn First Team All-America honors more than once in her career.

The All-America Team was voted on by a committee of NFCA members tasked with selecting the best players from the first team of each of the eight regions.
