INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. | The University of North Georgia men's tennis team, ranked No. 21 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division II poll, was selected for participation in the nine-team NCAA Division II Southeast Region as announced from the NCAA office on the men's tennis selection show Tuesday evening. The NCAA postseason appearance is the third in the last four years for the Nighthawks after registering the program's first in 2012.
The fifth-seeded Nighthawks (14-5) will face a familiar foe in fourth-seeded Columbus State (17-5) at a five-team event hosted by Armstrong State. The two teams recently squared off just four days ago in Peach Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinal action with the 8
th-ranked Cougars posting a 5-1 win in Florence, S.C. The teams will face off on Sunday, May 3 at Bacon Park in Savannah at 10:00 a.m.
The top-seeded Pirates (20-4) will take on the winner of eighth-seed GRU Augusta (12-8) and ninth-seeded Wingate (15-5), who play on Saturday, May 2, in a Noon first-round match. The winner faces Armstrong State on Sunday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m.Sunday's winners will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4, to play for a berth at the 2015 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Round of 16, held in Surprise, Ariz., from May 13-16.Lander, the region's second ranked team, will host the Southeast region's other four-team event. In the Lander bracket, the host Bearcats will play seventh-seeded Young Harris in the second round with third-seeded Georgia College facing off against sixth-seeded Mount Olive in the other second round match.
North Georgia finished the 2015 season with a 14-5 overall record and tied a school record for single season victories and set a new benchmark for single season conference wins.

Seven of the region's nine teams are Peach Belt teams with the other two spots going to the other leagues' automatic qualifiers: Mount Olive (Conference Carolinas) and Wingate (South Atlantic). After the three automatic qualifiers were set, all six of the remaining at large qualifiers came from the Peach Belt.
