DAHLONEGA | The University of North Georgia women's tennis team extended its program-best winning streak to nine matches with an 8-1 Peach Belt Conference victory over UNC Pembroke on Sunday afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
The win pushes North Georgia to 11-8 overall and 5-6 in league play, while UNCP falls to 6-13, 1-10 PBC.
After dropping their first six conference matches to start the season, the Nighthawks have responded to win their last five to move into a tie for seventh place. The five league wins matches the program record for most single-season conference wins with two Peach Belt matches remaining.
The top eight teams qualify for the PBC Tournament.
