No. 2 Women’s Soccer Powers Past Georgia Southwestern, 11-0

DAHLONEGA | The second-ranked University of North Georgia women's soccer team was dominant from start-to-finish in Saturday's 11-0 throttling of Georgia Southwestern. The Nighthawks are now 9-0-1 overall with a 4-0-1 mark in Peach Belt Conference play.

Jade Pennock opened the scoring on senior day with her fifth goal of the season in the 18th minute, blasting a shot that caught a piece of a defender's knee before going past the keeper. Rachel VanHorn added to the lead in the 34th minute taking advantage of an opportunity off a deflected Brynn Finneran shot. Renee VanHorn followed her sister's lead scoring her first career goal in the 40th minute finishing off a deflected shot by Alex Bowen coming off a UNG corner kick.

UNG scored eight goals by seven different players – Sophia Matonak (2), Mollie Arrendale (5), Jessica Allen (2), Jacy Ramey (7 & 8), Michaela Sundstrom (2), Madison Salters (1) – to give the Nighthawks a 10-0 advantage with 10 minutes left to play. North Georgia never let up on the attack, forcing an own goal in the 87th minute to give the game its final 11-0 score.
