ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida | After battling Flagler College for 80 minutes in scoreless soccer, the University of North Georgia men's soccer team saw the host Saints score twice in the final ten minutes to post a 2-0 Peach Belt Conference win. Flagler won its second consecutive match to improve to 7-8-1 overall and finished 4-5-0 in the PBC while North Georgia suffered its fourth straight defeat and fell to 3-11-1 overall and 2-5-0 in conference play.
FC's Simeon Wickli scored a highlight goal in the 80
th minute when he took a pass from Eammon Moore and scored while falling down. Just two minutes later, Jean Vega knocked home a goal off a corner kick from Juan Membreno.
Flagler's Lex Craggs recorded his third shutout of the season as he tallied six saves for the Saints. North Georgia's
Victor Ohlin also saved six shots for North Georgia and was helped by his defense with three team saves.
Flagler outshot North Georgia 23-12 and held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Nighthawks will wrap up a four-match road swing with a league contest at Lander on Wednesday, October 29 with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. in Greenwood, South Carolina.
