Eddie Hurst posted his first two goals of the season, but the University of North Georgia men's soccer team came up on the short end of a 5-2 non-conference decision at Pfeiffer on Wednesday afternoon.
Pfeiffer (11-4-0) raced out to a quick 3-0 lead after needing just over six minutes to notch the game's first score. Just before half, the Nighthawks were able to trim the lead to 3-1 when
Daniel Bowlt assisted Hurst's first goal off of a free kick.
After the Falcons extended their lead to 4-1 in the 57
th minute, Hurst tallied his second score of the game using a cross from
Luis Huertas.
For the match, Pfeiffer held a 21-14 advantage in shots and a 4-2 lead in corner kicks.
North Georgia falls to 3-10-1 with the loss and jumps back into conference action on Saturday, Oct. 25 with a Peach Belt Conference tilt at Flagler. Kickoff is set for 3:30 in Saint Augustine, Florida.
