Biography
How Young got to UNG
Young joined the Nighthawks in 2024 as a freshman out of Fort Worth, Texas. She came from Lake Country Christian School where one sport was simply not enough for her. The talented athlete competed in basketball, softball, volleyball, track & field and cross country. Despite her school not having a soccer team, Young was a standout in all five sports for the Eagles. She was named to the TAPPS Div. III First Team All-District for softball and earned TAPPS 4A Second Team All-District and All-State honors for basketball while also helping lead her team to a 4A State Championship, the program's first since 2018. In the running sports, she qualified for the 2023 TAPPS Cross Country State Championship and qualified for the Track & Field 4A State Championship in the 3200-meter run before finishing second in the state in the 300-meter hurdles while setting a school record. She played club soccer with Sting Soccer Club in the Elite Club National League (ECNL). It was with the Sting during a club-league game that Young was discovered by the UNG coaching staff. From there, the Nighthawks' style and pace of play, coupled with the family environment within the program drew Young to Dahlonega. The standout athlete was also stellar in the classroom at Lake Country Chrisitian, as she won Valedictorian honors before graduating. The combination of athletics, academics, and the beautiful Dahlonega campus ultimately made UNG home for Campbell.
