How Oetinger got to UNG
Oetinger arrived in Dahlonega in the spring of 2024 after deciding to transfer from Lipscomb University where she spent her freshman and sophomore seasons. Oetinger returned to the Peach State which she calls home, hailing from Roswell, Ga. originally. Oetinger returned to a state in which her family has already staked its claim in the athletic world. Bailey's mother, Jan, was a gymnast at Peach Belt Conference member Georgia College during her athletic career. Bailey's father, Mike, also lettered in baseball at Georgia College in 1992. Bailey herself was a standout Georgia athlete during her high school days at Roswell High School. It was there she was a two-year captain and won a 7A Region Championship in 2021 with a 7A Region Runner-Up appearance the following year. Oetinger was an All-Region selection in both years. She also lettered in basketball and track as well. Oetinger cites UNG's top notch soccer program, amazing facilities and the ability to return to her home state as the driving forces that contributed to her commitment to the Nighthawk program.
