How Thompson got to UNG
Quinn Thompson joins the Nighthawk men's soccer program as a senior transfer from historic rival Young Harris. Thompson spent the first four years of his collegiate career with the Mountain Lions. The defender played in 57 games over his career, starting 52 of them on the back line. He managed a goal in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, and added a total of 21 assists in four years for a 27-point career in the purple and white. In 2021, Thompson's 11 assists led the Mountain Lions and ranked ninth in NCAA Division II. His efforts landed him on the Division 2 Conference Commisioners Association (D2CCA) All-America Third Team. He was also a D2CCA All-Region selection along with a Peach Belt Conference All-Conference First Team selection in 2021, prior to Young Harris' departure from the conference. Thompson, who faced the Nighthawks six times in his career and went 6-0, cited his experience against UNG and how good the facilities and campus was as a contributing reason to his commitment.
