How Galicia got to UNG
Andres Galicia, a native of nearby Gainesville, Ga., joined UNG in 2024 after a quality career at Johnson High School. In his senior season with the Knights, Galicia was named to the Georgia High School Soccer Class 4A All-State First Team. The defender also earned Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) 4A All-State First Team honors as he helped his team go 18-2-1 and make a run to the state championship. In Galicia's senior season in which he anchored one of the best back lines in the state, Johnson held its opponents scoreless in eight games in total. Only once in the entire season did a foe muster more than two goals against the Knights. The season prior, Galicia won the Class 4A state championship as a junior with Johnson.
