How McConnie got to UNG
Aiden McConnie, a native of Marietta, Ga., arrived in Dahlonega in 2024 after a strong career at Lassiter High School. As a junior, McConnie scored 14 goals and chipped in 15 assists as he led the Trojans in both categories. His leadership helped Lassiter go 18-2 and win the Georgia Boys 6A State Championship in 2023. McConnie was named the Cobb County Boys Soccer Player of the Year. McConnie and Lassiter also won the 6A State Championship the year prior in a 3-1 win over Dalton High School. In his senior season, McConnie was named to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) 6A All-State Second Team and Georgia High School Soccer 6A All-State First Team after helping his team to a 12-5-1 season.
