DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia Department of Athletics will once again host the Golden Nighthawk Awards Gala with a mixture of in-person and virtual events throughout the course of April 26-30. For the third consecutive year, the event is presented by Northeast Georgia Health System. 
 
The department used a fully virtual model for the 2020 GNAs back in August to highlight the 2019-20 season, utilizing all three of the department's main social media platforms of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
 
The week will kickoff with an in-person celebration with all of the senior student-athletes where each program will honor their seniors by awarding them a framed NG letter as well as stoles for those who are graduating in May.
 
On Tuesday, the department begin the virtual portion of the week-long event, showing off some of the best performances by Nighthawk student-athletes as well as teams on the fields and courts.
 
Wednesday will honor all of the milestones and records broken throughout the 2020-21 season, while Thursday will honor the achievements by UNG's student-athletes in the classroom with academic recognitions.
 
On Friday, the social media campaign comes to a close by giving out four awards for Female, Male, Team and Play of the Year. The awards will be voted on by an award selection committee made up of members of the UNG athletics administrative staff.
