How Osmanbasic got to UNG
Haris Osmanbasic has perhaps the most unique path to Dahlonega. A newly minted freshman who had just graduated from Cambridge High School in Milton, Ga., Osmanbasic arrived in Dahlonega to start is collegiate career in 2022. He played in nine games and scored four goals with two assists as a rookie forward. His four goals were tied for the second most of any Nighthawk that season. After his freshman season, Osmanbasic picked up and headed west to play at the Division I level at Alabama-Birmingham (UAB). The sophomore tallied a goal and an assist in 12 games with the Blazers. Ultimately, he decided to come back home after his sophomore season as Osmanbasic returned to where he originally began his collegiate career in the heart of the Georgia mountains. In 2024 he returned and played for first-year head coach Anel Lilic who was an assistant with the program during Osmanbasic's freshman season back in 2022.
