DAHLONEGA – No. 2 University of North Georgia (UNG) men's soccer players Owen Wallace and Miguel Pineda have earned Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week honors following a 2-0-1 week against three nationally ranked opponents.

Wallace was named the PBC Defensive Player of the Week, while Pineda earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

Wallace played all 270 minutes during the Nighthawks' three-game stretch, anchoring a North Georgia backline that allowed just one goal across the three contests.

The Nighthawks opened the week with a 0-0 draw against No. 22 Florida Tech, limiting the Panthers to six shots, including just one on goal. Wallace and the North Georgia defense then held No. 24 Palm Beach Atlantic to seven shots on goal in a 2-0 victory before limiting No. 9 Auburn Montgomery to just three shots on goal in a 3-1 win.

AUM entered the contest having scored at least two goals in each of its first three matches of the season.

Pineda earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors after making his collegiate debut in the Nighthawks' 2-0 victory over No. 24 Palm Beach Atlantic.

Pineda faced 13 shots and recorded seven saves to earn a clean sheet in his first appearance for North Georgia. Among his seven saves was a penalty-kick stop against Palm Beach Atlantic's leading scorer.

The Nighthawks, ranked tied for second in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II poll, are 4-0-1 on the season.

North Georgia returns to action on Sept. 9, opening PBC play against Lander at home in Dahlonega. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
