DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia (UNG) women's soccer player Nina Lopez has been named this week's Nighthawk of the Week following her performance against USC Aiken on Saturday.

In North Georgia's 2-1 win over USC Aiken, Lopez scored her sixth goal of the season, which leads the team. She also played a key role in setting up the play that led to Blanca Cruz's game-winning goal in the 83rd minute.

The Nighthawk of the Week title sponsor is Chick-fil-A of Dahlonega, with each week's winner receiving a complimentary combo meal at the Dahlonega restaurant. Located at 488 Morrison Moore Parkway East, Chick-fil-A is proud to give back to the local community and serve as a community partner with UNG Athletics.

Beginning in the fall of 2014, UNG Athletics has honored one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is selected each Sunday evening by a committee made up of members of the UNG Athletics leadership team.

No. 13 North Georgia returns to action Sept. 23 with a road match against Columbus State. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
