DAHLONEGA – After a pair of standout performances for the No. 18 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's soccer team, Grace McGill has been named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. 

McGill helped guide the Nighthawks to a 2-0 record last week, serving as a key contributor to a 6-0 shutout of Tusculum and a 4-3 victory at USC Beaufort in North Georgia's PBC opener. 

The Senoia, Ga. native tallied a pair of assists against Tusculum, marking the first multi-assist game of her career. McGill followed that performance with two second-half goals against USC Beaufort for her second brace in the last three games. 

McGill has been on a statistical tear through the first six games of her senior season. The Nighthawk captain is currently tied with her teammate Nina Lopez for the PBC lead with five goals. She also ranks atop the league with five assists, which is tied for the most in a single season in her career. 

The award marks the first PBC Player of the Week selection of McGill's career and her third weekly conference award overall after earning PBC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice last season. 

McGill and the Nighthawks will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 16, hosting Flagler at 12 p.m. at the UNG Soccer Field.
