DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia (UNG) men's soccer player Isaac Calderon has been named this week's Nighthawk of the Week after his standout performances against Lander and USC Aiken last week.

Calderon delivered a strong performance in Peach Belt Conference play, recording two goals and an assist in North Georgia's 3-3 draw against Lander on Wednesday. He contributed to all three Nighthawk goals, including a bicycle kick that landed at No. 5 on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays.

He followed with another goal in North Georgia's 2-0 victory over USC Aiken on Saturday, bringing his season total to six goals.

Calderon's six goals and 14 points leads the team.

The Nighthawk of the Week title sponsor is Chick-fil-A of Dahlonega, with each week's winner receiving a complimentary combo meal at the Dahlonega restaurant. Beginning in the fall of 2014, the UNG athletic department has honored one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is selected each Sunday evening by a committee made up of members of the UNG Athletics leadership team.

No. 2 North Georgia returns to action Sept. 16 for their first road match of the season against Clayton State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
