DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia (UNG) men's soccer player Max Garnett has been named this week's Peach Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in the first two games of the 2026 season.
Garnett was part of a North Georgia backline that allowed just one goal in nine shots. In Saturday's matchup against Christian Brothers, Garnett assisted on the Nighthawks' first two goals before firing a shot from just in front of midfield that found the back of the net, giving North Georgia a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
North Georgia returns to action Sept. 1 at home against Florida Tech. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at the UNG Soccer Complex.
