DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) men's soccer team was picked to finish second in the Peach Belt Conference Preseason Poll, as announced by the league Wednesday.
Flagler was picked as the preseason favorite, while Clayton State rounded out the top three.
The Nighthawks are coming off a successful 2025 season that saw the program earn its first-ever PBC regular-season championship. Head coach Anel Lilic was also named PBC Coach of the Year last season.
Maxwell Mitchell and Isaac Calderon were named preseason All-Conference selections.
Mitchell appeared in 17 games last season, making 16 starts, and tallied 12 points on four goals and four assists.
Calderon set a single-season program record with 11 assists in 2025.
The Nighthawks open the 2026 season at home against Barry on Aug. 27. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
