Six Nighthawks Earn Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Honors

DAHLONEGA – Six University of North Georgia (UNG) men's and women's basketball student athletes have been named to the 2025-26 Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team, the conference announced Monday.

The All-Academic Team, previously known as the Team of Academic Distinction, recognizes student athletes who excel both in competition and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must participate in at least half of their team's contests as a starter or significant contributor, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Leading the way for the Nighthawks was men's basketball player Jake Stephens, who earned All-Academic honors with a 3.95 GPA while majoring in management. The Chelsea, Michigan, native was the lone representative from the North Georgia men's basketball program.

Five members of the North Georgia women's basketball team were recognized. Hannah Cail, a kinesiology and exercise science major from Savannah, Georgia, posted a 3.88 GPA. Kiley Graham of Columbus, Ohio, earned recognition with a 3.83 GPA while studying public administration.

Caroline Martin, a nursing major from Cumming, Georgia, carried a 3.62 GPA, while Riley Simmons, a marketing major from Canton, Georgia, recorded a 3.63 GPA.

Maddie Millar highlighted the group by earning a perfect 4.00 GPA while pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree. The Amelia Island, Florida, native was one of six Nighthawks honored across the two basketball programs.
