EATONTON, Ga. – Weather halted play midway through the opening round of the GCSU Bobcat Invitational on Monday, leaving the No. 10 University of North Georgia (UNG) men's golf team in fifth place when play was suspended.
With the first round approximately halfway complete, North Georgia posted a team score of 107 before weather stopped action. Tournament officials shortened the event to 36 holes as a result.
Hunter Smith paced the Nighthawks early, sitting in third place at 1-under through eight holes with a score of 30.
Grant Langford was tied for 19th at 1-over through seven holes, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 second. Colby Bennett also sat tied for 19th at 1-over through four holes.
Garrett Horton carded a 2-over 28 through eight holes, while Jack Rowe was at 3-over with a 30 through seven holes.
Play will resume Tuesday morning with the completion of the opening round, followed immediately by the second and final round of the tournament.
