White's Record-Breaking Night Pushes No. 11 North Georgia Past Pacers

AIKEN, S.C. - The No. 11 University of North Georgia (UNG) men's basketball team earned a 98‑78 Peach Belt Conference road victory over USC Aiken on Wednesday night, powered by AJ White, who became the program's all-time leader in career three-pointers made.

White scored 20 points in the first half, helping the Nighthawks build a lead as large as 23 late in the opening frame. After a pair of Pacer free throws cut the UNG lead to two points (24-22) at the 8:22 mark, the Nighthawks closed the half with a dominant 25-4 surge before another USCA basket closed the half giving UNG a 49-28 advantage at the intermission.

The Nighthawks maintained momentum in the second half, shooting 65 percent from the field, led by Colin Turner's 14 points in the half.

White finished with 27 points on 9‑of‑14 shooting, including 4‑of‑7 from three, giving him 205 career three-pointers, the most in program history.

Turner added a season-high 22 points and nine rebounds.

With the win, North Georgia improves to 9‑1 overall and 3‑1 in PBC play.

Caleb Byrd led USC Aiken (6‑4, 2‑2 PBC) with 19 points, three rebounds and a pair of assists.

The Nighthawks return to action after the holiday break on Jan. 3 with a road trip to Flagler.
