11/10/2025 1:56:00 PM

DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia (UNG) women's soccer player Sam Cottle has been voted this week's Chick-fil-a Nighthawk of the Week.

Cottle made an impact off the bench for the Nighthawks in the team's 3-0 Peach Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinal win. She assisted on Blanca Cruz's goal in the 76th minute and followed it up by scoring the team's third goal in the 81st minute for the Nighthawks. She recorded four shots in her 23 minutes of action.

The Nighthawk of the Week title sponsor is Chick-fil-a of Dahlonega, with each week's winner being treated to a complimentary combo meal at the Dahlonega restaurant. Located at 488 Morrison Moore Parkway East, Chick-fil-a loves to give back to the local area and is proud to be a community partner with UNG Athletics.

Beginning in the fall of 2014, the UNG athletic department began honoring one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is chosen each Sunday evening by an award selection committee made up of members of the UNG athletics leadership team.

North Georgia will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 12 in semifinal action of the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Tournament where the top-seeded Nighthawks will host fifth-seeded Flagler at 5:00 p.m. at the UNG Soccer Field at Lynn Cottrell Park.
