DAHLONEGA -- AJ White collected a game-high 27 points and Cayden Charles added 20 as the No. 10 University of North Georgia men's basketball team knocked off Georgia Southwestern 83-77 at Lynn Cottrell Arena at the UNG Convocation Center on Wednesday evening.

Frank Champion added nine points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and two blocks for the Nighthawks (15-2, 6-1 Peach Belt.

After falling behind 30-24, North Georgia went on an 8-0 run with 4:31 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Champion, to take a 32-30 lead. The Nighthawks then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 37-34.

After intermission, North Georgia managed to gain control and had a 64-61 lead before going on a 7-0 run, finished off by Giancarlo Bastianoni's three, to grow the lead to 71-61 with 5:25 to go in the contest.

The Hurricanes narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Nighthawks still cruised the rest of the way for the six-point win.

The contest was a one-possession game for most of the evening and featured 15 lead changes.

Jalen Johnson led GSW (12-5, 4-3 Peach Belt) with a team-best 21 points, all of which came in the second half.
North Georgia returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 27 with a road trip to Augusta. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
