COLUMBUS, Ga. – For the second time in program history, the University of North Georgia women's tennis team advanced to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship match, defeating No. 11 Georgia College and State University (19-4) 4-0 in the semifinals.
The Nighthawks won their second consecutive tournament match 4-0, taking the doubles point and the #3, #5 and #6 flights all in straight sets.
Viktorie Wojcikova and
Johanna Lippert took the first doubles flight, taking a 7-5 victory.
Angelina Linnikova and
Svetlana Teterina cruised to a 6-1 result in the second flight to give North Georgia a 1-0 lead.
In singles,
Anna Markvartova finished with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win in the third singles flight, followed by another 6-1, 6-1 result from
Ashley Moinard to give the Nighthawks their third point. Teterina closed out the semifinal victory with a 6-2, 6-0 win to advance UNG to the conference championship match.

The Nighthawks (15-5) will face off against fifth-ranked Flagler (18-4) in the championship match on Sunday (Apr. 23) at 1:00 p.m. North Georgia fell in its regular season match 4-3 on Apr. 4.
