DAHLONEGA – A tight battle between two top-25 ranked squads led to the No. 12 University of North Georgia women's tennis team defeating 25th-ranked Columbus State 4-3 in its Peach Belt Conference hme match at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
The Nighthawks took the doubles point, taking the first two flights to take a 1-0 lead.
Viktorie Wojcikova and
Johanna Lippert rolled to a dominant 6-0 victory in the #1 flight, followed by a 6-3 result favoring UNG, with
Svetlana Teterina and
Angelina Linnikova clinching the doubles point in the #2 flight.
Wojcikova and Lippert continued to add to the win, with Wojcikova winning 6-4, 6-2 in the #1 singles flight and Lippert taking a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 battle in the #2 flight to clinch the fourth point for North Georgia. Teterina controlled her match in the #6 flight, rolling to a 6-2, 6-1 result, winning the third point in the match for UNG.

The Nighthawks will wrap up their regular season on the road against 14th-ranked Georgia College. North Georgia is scheduled to play on Saturday (April 15th) for a 1:00 p.m. start time in Milledgeville.
