PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 6 University of North Georgia women's tennis team fell, 4-3, to tenth-ranked West Alabama on Wednesday (Mar. 15) in a neutral site match at the University of West Florida.
The Nighthawks dropped two of their three doubles matches to lose the doubles point but attempted a comeback, splitting the singles matches, falling short by one in the loss.
Johanna Lippert and
Svetlana Teterina won the lone doubles match for UNG, taking a 6-4 victory in the #2 doubles flight. Tetertina continued her momentum in her singles match, winning a tightly contested three-set match, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4.
Anna Markvartova and
Angelina Linnikova joined Teterina in winning their singles match, with Markvartova taking a straight set victory, 7-6, 6-4 and Linnikova earning a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory in the #4 singles flight.
