ALBANY, Ga. – For the second consecutive year, the No. 9 University of North Georgia men's golf team will return home with a tournament victory from the Hurricane Invitational hosted by Georgia Southwestern. The Nighthawks earn their second tournament victory of the season and add a key resume point after finishing ahead of seven top 25 teams, including No. 1 Anderson.
The Nighthawks outlasted eighth-ranked Nova Southeastern and tenth-ranked tournament host Georgia Southwestern posting a team score of 281 to finish seven-under-par in the final round.
Evan Thompson finished tied for second shooting a 70 (-2) to lead the Nighthawks and earn a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Noah Zediker matched Thompson with a 70 (-2) in the final round to finish tied for tenth.
Stephen Kinsel and
Hughes Threlkeld finished tied for 17th after a three-round score of 215 (-1). Threlkeld helped strengthen the backend of the Nighthawks lineup after a 69 (-3) in the final round to jump up ten spots on the leaderboard.
Ethan Day shot a 74 (+2) in the final round to finish tied for 28th and round out the Nighthawks lineup.

The Nighthawks will head to Sevierville, Tenn. to play in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee Tech on Mar. 12-14.
