Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 10 University of North Georgia women's tennis team blanked Augusta (2-1) 7-0 in its Peach Belt Conference opener.
Valentina Ascarrunz highlighted a dominant team performance by pairing up with
Ashley Moinard for a 6-1 victory in doubles before Ascarrunz won 6-0, 6-1 in singles.
Viktorie Wojcikova won in the top spot 6-2, 6-2 before
Johanna Lippert finished in the second spot earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory.
Anna Markvartova and Moinard both took a win in singles against the Jaguars, with Markvartova winning 6-2, 6-3 and Moinard finishing at 6-4, 6-4.
Svetlana Teterina matched Ascarrunz's final of 6-0, 6-1, to add another singles win to her totals.
Lippert, Wojcikova,
Angelina Linnikova and Teterina each added doubles victories, with Lippert and Wojcikova winning in their doubles matchup 6-4, while the duo of Linnikova and Teterina won 6-3.
The Nighthawks won each singles match in straight sets. It was the eighth straight victory over Augusta, and the third time in four matches the Nighthawks have won 7-0.

The Nighthawks will host Tusculum (3-2) at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park on Saturday (Feb. 18), scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. start time. Tusculum is coming off a 7-0 victory over Young Harris. It will be the eighth meeting between the two programs, with the Nighthawks holding a four-match win streak.
